We had forgotten that the opening sequence was set at night time, so we had to change the plot a little. Also the filming took longer than we had anticipated. We were planning on being back for break, but instead I missed my third lesson of the day. There was also a problem with the taxi as the company increased their price so we ended up paying more than last time to get back to school. We also specifically asked for a seven seater and the first taxi they sent round wasn't the right one so we had to wait longer for the seven seater to arrive which only made us later in coming to school.

When we were looking over our footage there was a problem with a few of our first shots. There were lines going through it and we didn't know how to fix it. Another problem that we came across is that we felt that our opening sequence didn't have a thriller theme feel to it. To fix this particular problem we have invented a new synopsis, which is completely different from our previous one. A good thing is that we arranged the synopsis so that we could use a few of the good shots from our filming in the new opening sequence. We have to now redo everything, including posting a new story board, screenplay and edit all our new clips in a short amount of time.

During the editing process, once we had thou we had finished, we asked the teacher for their opinion. We then found out that we had done out titles wrong and that they were meant to be shown throughout the opening sequence. We then had a short amount of time to fix this before our deadline, however we managed.
When we had thought that we had finished everything and that our opening sequence was complete, our teacher disagreed and told us we needed to add on more to make sure that it feels like a thriller. So we felt under pressure to get some more shots and edit them before our deadline. We planned and organised a time when the group could meet up up however only two of us showed up and we had to do our best under the circumstances.
We had the opportunity to spend the whole day outside of lessons to edit and finally finish our opening sequence. However it was suggested to get some more shots which only put our group under more pressure as we were running out of time. Once the shots were done I stayed throughout the whole of lunch to edit everything and make sure we did run out of time. By the end of the day everyone was pleased with our work, the only problem was it didn't coincide properly with the synopsis of the film. There was no way I was able to stay any longer after school to move things around, so my group agreed to let me go. They then stayed on to move around the shots so that our opening sequence would be easier to understand and actually link to the synopsis.
Good awareness of time limits on your choices, and the need to use appropriate shots and content to fit the genre in the brief. This is likely to have a significant impact on the final quality of your opening sequence. Please use this dated record to note your individual achievements as well as those of the group.
